ANDRITZ Airlay Line Revolutionizes Sustainable Filtration and Insulation at Revibat, France

A Breakthrough in Sustainable Nonwovens Production

International technology group ANDRITZ has successfully supplied and commissioned a cutting-edge neXline airlay system for Revibat, France. This state-of-the-art line, inaugurated in early February, enables the production of building insulation panels from glass wool waste that would otherwise be discarded in landfills.

Advancing the Circular Economy

With this new ANDRITZ line, Revibat can now transform complex waste collected in the Paris region into valuable insulation materials. The patented process addresses two significant environmental challenges: repurposing insulation glass wool waste and reducing the carbon footprint throughout the production chain. This innovative approach is a major step forward in promoting a circular economy within the insulation industry.

The airlay line processes up to 1,500 kg of fiber per hour and is specifically designed to manufacture a unique nonwoven material for insulation purposes. This advancement marks a pivotal moment for sustainable manufacturing in the construction sector.

Industry Leaders Speak on the Innovation

Nicolas Brousse, CEO of Revibat, emphasized the importance of this new technology: “Our new ANDRITZ neXline airlay system represents a major milestone in our market as it enables us to start producing building insulation panels from glass wool waste. Our goal is to expand this solution across France, getting as close as possible to the waste and thereby minimizing our carbon footprint. Working with the experts at the ANDRITZ technical center in Cours has been a pleasure and essential for the development of this unique product.”

Pioneering Sustainable Solutions

Revibat specializes in manufacturing construction materials from recycled building waste. Its mission has been to develop a viable solution for recycling glass wool, a longstanding challenge in the industry. With a state-of-the-art laboratory, Revibat now processes glass wool waste on an industrial scale, positioning itself as a key player in supporting eco-organizations in their efforts to collect, consolidate, and recover building waste materials.

By leveraging innovative technologies from ANDRITZ, Revibat is setting new standards for sustainable filtration and insulation production while contributing to the broader goal of reducing environmental impact in the construction sector. More Information
